A new watch starts as a draft. In our Creative Center in Schaffhausen we expand on the typical IWC design for all our watch families. Together with our engineers and experienced watchmakers, new complications are developed and combined to make a beautifully finished product.
Great watches require the best material available whether it is beautiful precious metals, high-quality straps or other parts that make a watch a real IWC timepiece. Marketing & Communications
Our business unit “Marketing & Communications” consists of three departments: Retail and Trade Marketing, Consumer Marketing, and Corporate Communication. In addition, we have a staff unit for Product Marketing & Development. At our Schaffhausen Headquarter we develop strategies and concepts catering to a broad range of operations including our worldwide POS (point-of-sale), for our CRM and Internet tools, our ads and media activities, PR guidelines, sponsorship agreements as well as partnerships. Together with our international marketing colleagues we make sure that the implementation of our tools is based on this global strategy.
Our sales activities are global but at the same time, very local-we want to be close to our customers. Currently, we provide services to more than 35 countries, hundreds of POS (point-of-sale) and IWC mono-brand boutiques. Our sales team in Schaffhausen supports our international brand managers and coordinates our worldwide distribution. Retail activation and business analysis are offered to our senior management and brand directors.
We couldn’t fulfill the dreams of the watch connoisseurs without the help of our internal support functions such as finance, information technology (IT) or human resources (HR).
Our finance department consists of the three entities Business controlling, industrial controlling and Accounting. All three units are responsible for providing accurate data and meaningful reports to our senior management. This involves interaction with our worldwide subsidiaries and boutiques as well as with our Richemont Headquarter in Geneva.
Our IT activities are facilitated: Business software IT and Technical support. Both are committed to delivering the best services and IT support to all of IWC. Production and stock planning as well as daily business in all of our offices depend heavily on reliable, state-of-the-art IT knowledge and services.

Human Resources supports IWC’s strategy by ensuring that the right employee is in the right position at the right time. As far as possible, human resources tries to positively influence employee motivation, commitment and productivity. Human Resources develops policies, standards, systems and processes. Our main tasks are: talent management and development, recruitment, selection, onboarding (integration of new employees), employee relations, HR controlling, employee record-keeping, organizational development, change management, compensation and employee benefit management, training and development (learning management).
