Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic
The Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic is available in an unlimited edition exclusively at selected IWC boutiques.
The Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic radiates composure and an undiluted aesthetic.
Nothing distracts from the purist lines and clear-cut dial design.
Available in 18-carat red gold or stainless steel with a silver-plated dial.
In order to make the overall impression as discreet as possible, the power reserve display has been moved to the back of the watch.
Two hands and a winding crown – a wristwatch could hardly be more modest. The new Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic celebrates the art of understatement: in order to ensure that the dial remains as uncluttered as possible, even the power reserve display has been moved to the back of the watch. Thus, the dial does not reveal that the IWC hand-wound 59060 calibre only needs to be wound once a week: pure understatement. The traditional, arched-edge front glass not only makes the 43.5-millimetre diameter of this harmonious model seem smaller than it actually is, but also gives the watch a classic, balanced appearance. The 18-carat red gold model sports a silver-plated dial and gold-plated hands and indices as well as a dark brown leather strap from Santoni. The stainless-steel version is available with a silver-plated dial, rhodium-plated hands and indices and a black leather strap from Santoni. The Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic is available in an unlimited edition exclusively at selected IWC boutiques.
The appeal of this purist watch with two hands is based on minimalist design and discreet elegance. When fully wound, the IWC-manufactured 59060 calibre will continue running precisely for 8 days. The indexless balance oscillates at a frequency of 4 hertz, or 28,800 beats per hour. Like the Breguet spring bent into shape using traditional watchmaking techniques, this also helps to make the watch extremely accurate.
