As the first IWC boutique to open its doors in the United States, IWC Schaffhausen has been serving American watch aficionados since 2008.
Located on Brighton Way, steps away from the legendary Rodeo Drive, the IWC boutique is perfectly situated for anyone looking to conquer all that Los Angeles has to offer.
Besides the comprehensive selection of IWC timepieces in the sleekly-designed boutique, there is plenty to experience – from national observatories to hotels rich with Hollywood folklore, IWC customers can find something that peaks their interest. IWC Boutique Beverly Hills Director Johan Gyllenkrok has assembled a list of adventures sure to make any time spent in the ”City of Angels” a time well spent.
Since 1914, Yamashiro has towered over Hollywood – the name Yamashiro literally means “Mountain Palace.” Beginning as a private estate, Yamashiro is now a unique restaurant and public gardens, featuring a 600-year old pagoda and 30,000 varieties of greenery. Yamashiro also served as the headquarters of the ultra-exclusive 400 Club in the 1920s, playing host to Hollywood’s most esteemed directors, actors, producers and writers.
Home to the Getty’s collection of European and American art from the Middle Ages to the present, visitors are also treated to dramatic architecture, tranquil gardens and breathtaking views. Specific pieces include European paintings, drawings, manuscripts, sculptures and decorative arts, as well as European and American photography.
Taking its name from Griffith J. Griffith, a Welsh-born American immigrant who donated the land and funds to the cause, the Griffith Observatory has been set atop Mount Hollywood since 1935. Considered a leader in national public astronomy, guests today can enjoy – among other things at the observatory – the Gottlieb Transit Corridor, a monumental 150 by 10-foot glass-walled passageway that immerses visitors in the motions of the sun and moon, starting across the sky and demonstrating how these are linked with time. We think that any IWC customer interested in the Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia would enjoy such an experience.
The Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia is the most exclusive and most complicated mechanical watch ever created by IWC Schaffhausen.
High above the notorious L.A. traffic, visitors can enjoy the sights of Los Angeles via helicopter. Sights such as the Hollywood Sign, the beaches and Hollywood Boulevard look even more impressive.
