Celebrity photographer Peter Lindbergh took Istanbul’s breath away on June 8th at Esma Sultan with “Portofino Memories” exhibition created with glamorous portfolio of photographs the infamous photographer has taken in Portofino, Italy last year with Hollywood’s biggest names. The photoshoot was done exclusively for IWC’s renewed Portofino Collection.
Hosted by Georges Kern, CEO of IWC, Esma Sultan has witnessed an unforgettable evening with 400 high profile names of the business, art and the entertainment world along with Istanbul’s jet set. The exhibition which combined the carefree Italian lifestyle with the glamour of the 1960’s was highly praised by the guests just like the attendees of the exhibiton in Geneva, Milan, Los Angeles and Cannes.
“The Making of Portofino” movie in black and white, featuring all the behind the scenes footage of Peter Lindbergh’s Portofino Memories photoshoot gave the guests a great sense of nostalgia.
During the “Portofino Memories” photoshoot, friends of the IWC brand were all in 1960’s inspired clothes and accessories reflecting the “dolce vita” lifestyle and, showcased the new Portofino watches with immaculate grace.
Some of the celebrities and socialites who attended the Portofino evening were Hatice Aslan, Omer Karacan, Fahir Atakoğlu, Eda Taspinar, Guneri Civaoglu, Seda Domanic, Ahu Yagtu, Derin Sarıyer, Ece Sukan and Tuğce Kazaz.
Enbe Orchestra started off the evening with popular Italian songs, but the real highlight of the evening was the mini concert given by Bryan Ferry, the legendary singer of Roxy Music. Guests have danced until early morning to the tunes of the infamous DJ of St Tropez, DJ Jack E.
Esma Sultan was completely redecorated to reminisce the streets of Portofino which was a huge surprise to all the guests. The guests also enjoyed themselves as they posed for black and white photographs in 1960’s cars and Vespas.
The renewed Portofino collection of IWC, which originally took its name from the amazing harbor town of Portofino, will grace the wrists of those who like classical elegance and grace along with Italian style of living.
IWC Schaffhausen announces an exclusive pop-up exhibition in The Watch Gallery at Selfridges Wonder Room, from June 24th. At an exclusive “For the Love of Cinema” dinner, IWC celebrated with Friends of the Brand and other world-famous celebrities including actors Naomi Watts, Eric Dane and Christoph Waltz, top model Karolina Kurkova, gallery owner Tim Jefferies, musicians John Helliwell and Aloe Blacc and racing driver Lewis Hamilton.
