Hong Kong, 3 September 2013 – Following the latest in its series of successful boutique openings in Hong Kong, IWC Schaffhausen is now settling into one of the city’s most prestigious shopping districts. The design of the new IWC boutique in Causeway Bay highlights themes of haute horlogerie and promises a one-of-a-kind experience for watch enthusiasts.
As part of Hong Kong’s central business district, Causeway Bay is the epitome of prosperity and vibrancy. Upscale shopping malls rub shoulders with world-class restaurants, top-ranking commercial buildings and entertainment venues here. “Having made this exciting addition to our array of boutiques, we are proud to invite visitors on a voyage of discovery of the world of luxury watchmaking and of our watch families,” announces Benoit de Clerck, Managing Director of IWC North East Asia.
The Causeway Bay boutique is IWC Schaffhausen’s first street-level store in Hong Kong. The boutique incorporates bright ideas from the company’s talented team of interior designers, eloquently communicating the brand’s core values. Luxurious finishes, sophisticated lighting, polished metal and other decorative features combine to create a stylish and elegant haven over 80 square metres of shop floor. The contrast with the bustling city scene outside could not be more complete.
A showcase in the entrance area welcomes guests with a collection of IWC’s masterpieces and grande complication models. Guests then continue their journey through captivating technology and pioneering aviation, experiencing at first hand the excellence of the Ingenieur and Pilot’s Watches. In a spacious private lounge area, visitors take an in-depth look at the Da Vinci family, synonymous with ingenuity. They can also see the Portofino collection, inspired by the Italian lifestyle and picturesque seaside resort. Finally, their journey is not complete without exploring the fascination of the underwater world represented by the Aquatimer watch family, as well as the Portuguese collection, IWC Schaffhausen’s tribute to marine navigation. A dedicated strap showcase stands in the lounge area as a source of inspiration to guests wishing to express their individuality through a personalized watch.
