IWC is pleased to have been honored at this year’s Webby Awards – the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet – for our website, IWC.com.
Established in 1996 during the Web’s infancy, The Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and includes an Executive 1,000-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities, and Associate Members who are former Webby Award Winners and Nominees and other Internet professionals, and is considered the highest honor of Web activity. This year’s event – the 16th Annual Webby Awards – received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states and generated nearly 2 billion media impressions worldwide.
With nearly 70 categories, Website entries make up the majority of Webby Awards Winners, Nominees and Honorees. Of the over 8,000 entries submitted to the 16th Annual Webby Awards, fewer than 15% were distinguished as an Official Honoree. To be selected among the best is an incredible achievement, and IWC is proud to have won this year for superior quality; a great honor for our brand.

Swiss film promotion receives fresh boost: film director Marc Forster, Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, Zurich Film Festival co-directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri, and Ringier CEO Marc Walder have joined forces to found the joint “Verein zur Filmförderung in der Schweiz” (Association for Film Promotion in Switzerland), with the aim of increasing the significance of national film projects.
