IWC is pleased to have been honored at this year’s Webby Awards – the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet – for our website, IWC.com.
Established in 1996 during the Web’s infancy, The Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and includes an Executive 1,000-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities, and Associate Members who are former Webby Award Winners and Nominees and other Internet professionals, and is considered the highest honor of Web activity. This year’s event – the 16th Annual Webby Awards – received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states and generated nearly 2 billion media impressions worldwide.
With nearly 70 categories, Website entries make up the majority of Webby Awards Winners, Nominees and Honorees. Of the over 8,000 entries submitted to the 16th Annual Webby Awards, fewer than 15% were distinguished as an Official Honoree. To be selected among the best is an incredible achievement, and IWC is proud to have won this year for superior quality; a great honor for our brand.
Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen hosted another of its glamorous evening events during the Cannes International Film Festival. At an exclusive “For the Love of Cinema” dinner, IWC celebrated with Friends of the Brand and other world-famous celebrities including actors Naomi Watts, Eric Dane and Christoph Waltz, top model Karolina Kurkova, gallery owner Tim Jefferies, musicians John Helliwell and Aloe Blacc and racing driver Lewis Hamilton. The private dinner, themed “For the Love of Cinema”, underscored IWC’s passion for filmmaking and its furtherance of film projects.
