Following the opening of its Asian flagship boutique in Hong Kong 3 years ago, IWC Schaffhausen now presents its first boutique at Galaxy Macau.
Often called the Asian Las Vegas, Macau’s worldclass resorts and spectacular architecture make it a premier destination well suited to a leading luxury watch brand. IWC’s handcrafted masterpieces of Haute Horlogerie combine supreme precision with exclusive design and are ideally suited to the resort’s discerning clientele.
After the great Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama completed his historical trip to India in the 15th century, many of his compatriots followed suit and settled in the Orient, one of the most popular destinations being the island of Macau. In 1939, IWC Schaffhausen made its first watches to order for two importers from Lisbon and Porto – hence the name “Portuguese” – and has since maintained close links with the country’s rich history of seafaring. Macau’s connections with Portugal’s marine heritage make it an ideal location for an IWC boutique. The new luxury premises in Macau feature a comprehensive collection of IWC watches and aim to give customers a unique, high-quality service experience.
The brainchild of IWC’s own interior designers, the boutique seamlessly combines modern design cues and timeless features in a luxurious but highly functional setting. The store’s striking facade invites customers to discover the world of the Portuguese watches and the world of marine navigation together with the legendary Pilot’s Watch family and its elite TOP GUN models. The latter are showcased with aviation-style decor in a spacious but intimate lounge area, which also displays the Da Vinci collection, IWC’s tribute to the Renaissance’s all-round genius and his lifelong passion for the precise measurement of time. The journey continues into the corporate area to include the Aquatimer diver’s watch family and the Ingenieur, engineered to master extreme conditions. The Portofino family completes the unique display of all watch families, encapsulating Italian lifestyle at its best. Like IWC boutiques the world over, the new Galaxy Macau boutique offers an inspiring voyage of discovery into the multifaceted world of a leading manufacturer of luxury timepieces.
“We are proud to announce the opening of our IWC boutique in Macau because it represents another milestone in the brand’s worldwide expansion,” says Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen. “Macau attracts a discerning and affluent clientele, among them many watch enthusiasts and collectors, who will appreciate the welcoming and refined ambience we have created at the new Galaxy Macau boutique.”
