Our Corporate Trainee program offers a variety of challenging projects. Taylormade to your talents and ambitions, we offer the program and exceptional training to start building your competencies in our business areas. We provide you with the opportunity to work in projects and discover the variety of IWC as an employer of choice, including a stay at one of our subsidiaries in Europe. During the 21 months of the Corporate Trainee program you will work in an ambitious and fast paced environment and best prepared to take over challenging tasks right after the end of the program.

In our business areas you will discover the world of luxury, experience our international business, get in touch with the traditions of watchmaking and learn best in class marketing and communication procedures. As a member of the team, you will work on projects and be directly involved in day-to-day operations, working with gifted professionals and gaining first-hand experience of how our business works. In addition, you will be able to set up your valuable network throughout our company. Regular meetings with our CEO and Senior Management will provide you with additional insights and strategic backgrounds. Furthermore, you will get to know our distribution network – most likely in a business area outside of Switzerland for 3 months.

  • Master graduate, ideally in Business/Economics/Management
  • Experience abroad, either in studies or interships
  • Prior work experience (e.g. internships in Consulting, FMCG, Luxury)
  • Good command in German, English and French is a must

Testimonial FROM CORPORATE TRAINEE/BUSINESS ANALYST & PRICING OFFICER AT IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN

After successfully completing my master’s degree in banking and finance, I initially wanted to gain practical experience in various business areas. I therefore applied for the corporate trainee programme at IWC, an internationally successful company operating in the luxury watch industry. From the beginning, I found the trainee programme to be extremely exciting. The opportunity to get a deeper insight into a variety of fields in the Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing divisions at such a fascinating watch company was particularly motivating. Following several selection rounds, which included a case study, I was convinced that both IWC and the programme itself would provide me with the perfect start to my career.

The highlights of the trainee programme for me were the insights I gained into the areas of Industrialisation, Business Controlling and Sales. The programme began with Industrialization. Here I was able to see what happens during the entire watch production process and learn more about lean manufacturing. Among other things, I oversaw a lean manufacturing project as part of shop floor management. Business Controlling allowed me to find out how finance is involved in many areas of the business, for example in connection with budgeting, transfer pricing and annual financial statements. In addition to day-to-day tasks, I also carried out a project on the topic of retail investments. During my time in Sales, I initiated an exciting project in the retail area.

Following my trainee programme, I was offered a position as a Business Analyst & Pricing Officer. As I find sales very interesting and knew that I would be able to learn a lot in this role, I was delighted to accept the offer. Since then, my work has enabled me to deepen my knowledge of numerous topics. My tasks have included optimizing the business plan template, improving various sales reports, supporting pricing measures on the basis of global currency fluctuations and even actively contributing to IWC’s presence at the international SIHH watch fair.

I really value the wide range of tasks and diverse learning opportunities, but the most rewarding aspect of my job is the chance to work in an international environment and be in regular contact with all the different markets. It is excellent preparation for future career steps.

IWC is an exciting company and I would definitely recommend the corporate trainee programme. Thanks to this programme, I have been able to gain insights into various areas of the company and have worked on both interesting and important projects alongside my day-to-day tasks. However, it wasn’t only the technical component which impressed me, but also the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with all of the specialists from the different departments.
