This morning I received the final piece of the jigsaw. I took delivery of the cal 854 which completed my little collection of the cal 85 family. from left to right top row cal 85 / 852 / 8521 / 853 bottom cal 8531 / 854 / 8541 / 8541B centre the 5000 not including the cal extensions of the 8541B etc there is one missing. Can you guess?

Yes, You are right, the elusive cal 81, some doubt
Hi Ivan, I am afraid to miss your point by stating that the "elusive"cal81 is missing.I thought that cal 81 was the first automatic with small second at 6 and cal.85 the first automatic movement with central second.Do you mean that the similarity is the automatic movement? Regards, Adrian.

Hello Adrian, I believe that
the cal 81, although the only one to have a aux seconds dial, was the first automatic of what is now called the cal 85 family. So yes I do mean similarity in the automatic system. Thanks Adrian for the clarification. I attach cal 85 family details of the various calibres.
Note for MF - This is the first time I have been able to cross ref another chart to my postings, having followed your earlier instructions. Seems to work just fine. Learnt something new today
