Here are a couple of better scans of my new Saint Ex. It is very difficult to color match the tobacco / bronze face, so use your imagination. What I lack in photographic post production skills, I make up in poor photographic techniques. LOL.
Hope you enjoy. BTW, this one is # 142 / 1178.
For those who wonder why 1178 in a LE. Well, there are 500 made in RG, 250 in WG and 1 in PT (to be auctioned) and 1178 in SS. The sum of these editons adds to 1929, the year Southern Mail was written. Clever folks in Schaffhausen, eh?

Very nice St. Exupery!
Beautiful watch and beautiful pics. I have a Pilot's Chrono 371701 and this flieger really has a totally different design. Both the numerals, hands and functions are really something else. Not even to mention the color ofcourse and the different strap design. IWC did a very good job in creating a watch that is a part of the family, but also stands out from the pack. Thanks for posting and enjoy it in good health.

Same here....
... I most say that the more I see her the more I like her. Originally I thought the design was a bit off balance, but I begin to see the beauty of it and it is indeed growing on me too.

Thanks everyone,
I am loving this one and am getting more notices from non watch enthusiasts on this than on my other IWC's. The dial color has to be part of the reason...but it is very difficult to capture digitally. I will try the sunlight tip and post later.

I had a few minutes to spare so I came here to read the Forum :-)
As you wrote, it's hard to capture the color of the dial, the tip of sunlight does make it a bit easier.
When I was at IWC, I made this picture of the new and the old one side by side:
One should really see these watches in real life, they are stunning!
Kind regards,
Cinq

I'm eagerly awaiting mine. Hope to see it soon.
Cheers
it is a great watch. Love the tobacco colored dial.
Post scans when yours arrives. Maybe your photo skills will better caputre the bronze dial.
Here is a wrist shot from today.
