My imagination ran too wild with the abbreviations that 'EB' could have stood for surely.
These timepieces will always be special, not only for their outstanding technical robustness that has withstood the test of time but also their charm and mystery.

The IWC Cal 52.....& the "EB" Mystery (Pic Heavy!)
What a great story, and so well illustrated with the excellent quality pictures. I like the Bugatti theory very much. His father was a jewellery designer so he would have a very good eye for this. On his company logo he also used the EB initials, although he inverted the "E". He would have been 31 in 1912...so still a possibility! Great post.
