Here in the Netherlands it is warm and humid at the moment, I guess in the rest of the Northern world it is even hotter and sweatier. Under those circumstances, what do you do with your Portuguese watches, in relation to straps or bracelets? I have thought of some alternatives, maybe you like to add your choice or comment.
1) You wear your Portuguese on leather strap no matter what, you renew the strap when necessary. 2) You wear your Portuguese in air conditioned circumstances, like at the office or cool home, so there are no problems. 3) You put another type of strap on your Portuguese, making it sweat resistant: what kind of strap? 4) You put a bracelet on your Portuguese (please, don't yell at me) making it sweat resistant: what kind of bracelet? 5) You don't wear your Portuguese in summertime because of the leather strap, you wait to do so until fall or winter.
For me, it is no. 2. At the office it is cool, and I like my Portuguese watches too much, I want to wear them. At home, not air conditioned, it is OK in the evening. All in all my straps look still fine. When on holiday, under sportier conditions, I don't wear a Portuguese in the morning or the afternoon, this is time for my titanium Ingenieur. At dinner, well, I wear one of my Portuguese watches quite often.

2 as well, although...
...weather hasn't stopped me from wearing my favorite watch. I'm just a bit selective and limit the use of some watches vs others. These beauties were made for wearing!

Come rain, sunshine or snow
I wear mine nearly every day over the weekend sometimes I wear a Panerai which is also on a Leather strap , I love my Portuguese so much that even if I had to change and buy a new strap every month I would still keep wearing the Portuguese. Not sure why but my straps remain in excellent condition, on my first Portuguese the strap is still as good as new, I really want my straps to wear out so that just gives me a chance to go and buy a new one!

The one "benefit"...
from living in a perpetually warm climate is that virtually everywhere is air conditioned. I am wearing my VC Ingenieur today and I traveled from an air conditioned home in an air conditioned vehicle to an air conditioned office. When I do have to be outdoors for an extended period, that is when IWC's excellent bracelets (one of the many reasons I love the CFDV) are perfect for the weather down here. I agree...all of my watches are for wearing on a regular basis!

I'm not likely to get real sweaty. But for more active times, I leave the Portuguese at home and wear the Aquatimer on bracelet.
