For an Ingenieur, it must be 10 years old for an extract. For such a model, you then have to send the watch to IWC. An authorized dealer can help you sinc ethere can be export/import issues; otherwise contact the main distribution office in your country for help. In addition to shipping charges, you will need to pay 50 CHF I believe --you need to give IWC your credit card number and an authorization.
For 1974 and earlier models, you can get some production data by checking out "dateyouriwc" on thje Net. You really need a movement number to be precise.
