Over the last 10 years - I have directly influenced about 30+ friends and family to buy an IWC. I thought this Facebook post on my "wall" a few weeks ago was funny - three friends of mine who were not necessarily in the same social circles happened to be at lunch together, and they were all wearing IWCs, and realized that I directly influenced all of their purchases. (in this case, a Gold DaVinci Perpetual Cal, Portuguese 5001 Auto, and Spitfire Pilot Double (Doppel) Chrono).

Wow, 30+ people...thats so impressive!!! And the watch choices you've listed below are fabulous indeed. I'm still working on my first friend, but he's very close and I'm hoping to strike my maiden "deal" soon :)

My last "victim" is a friend of mine who wanted to gift himself a watch for his 40th birthday, before last week, he was still looking for a nice and good watch from another brand, I converted his opinion so he bought a 3717-01.
I didn't keep a precise "scoring" average but I remember many cases so far and, more important, no complaints or regrets by the buyers I gave suggestions to :)

Wow, that's a remarkable story! Thoroughly delightful to read about influencing friends to do the right thing!
My tally so far is three friends, though I am not counting! One of those friends is coming back to Hong Kong this week and I wonder if he'll be asking for my opinion on another IWC watch, hehe! His wife wasn't pleased that he went home last time with a lovely limited edition Portuguese Automatic, having only bought a Portofino a short while before! Admitedly, he was very happy!
As for me, the influence is daily - colleagues often gaze with distraction at my left wrist! :o))))
