I was getting ready to go out for dinner and wanted to wear my PPC. I had it on my wrist and was going to sync it with time.gov.
Can you spot the problem before looking???????
When I pulled the crown out to the first position, the day indicator advanced to Sunday while the date stayed on the 28th. This was at about 3:27 p.m. today (Eastern standard time).
I know something similar happened to someone over the new year. Has anyone seen or heard of other occurrences of this issue? If both the date and day advance after midnight tonight, the watch will be sent to IWC next week for repair and regulation.
Thought this would be interesting for IWC owners. I'm not happy it happened but understand many issues can occur with such a complicated mechanism.

And to follow up from last night's post, today my watch reads Monday, August 29th. The additional problem is the crown will not advance the indications when pulled out to the first position.
Sorry to hear this, and I'm sure this will get fixed.
Generally, most problems with IWC perpetuals result from the watch being set or reset during a so-called "forbidden" time, when the gears are close together and might jam. I'm not accusing you of this but usually when one function doesn't advance it's due to a jamming of the gears relating to that, or possibly shock to the mechanism.
Because service issues are often individual and can have a number of factors, often requiring physical inspection, IWC has asked that they generally aren't forum topics. That said, I think you've had bad luck of the draw but fortunately your issue should be completely fixable.

the picture was taken just after the issue occurred which was around 3:30 p.m. EST.
I understand what IWC has asked and will take the story elsewhere.
Cheers, Eric
