Actually I have thought about it many times. I have cosidered a Jubilee, a Mark 11 and a few others like it, as well as the Portofino hand wound with the moonphase at 3 o clock and one of the original aquatimers. In each case I decided to get something from the newer lines. I guess I am just into the more contemporary watches or I would have made other choices by now. And there is always tomorrow.
Alan - I share your exact MO. I have considered only those same vintage IWCs that you considered - but have stuck with contemporary ones. I like your DFB Inge.

Alan, I've read the post - and seen the photos.....
For me, it's clear what your next watch will be. I agree by the way with your take on the Black dial. The white looks superb in photos, but the black one (sometimes almost slate grey....) just looks so much better on the wrist!
If I was you - I would not wait to the next years collection....as from your writings it's clear you like this watch and yes, it makes a great "next day watch" to your DFB. Follow the heart - feed the passion. You wont regret it.

On a recent visit to the IWC boutique at Kuwait Citys 360 Mall, I had a chance to admire the new Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph. An awesome timepiece, and although I found it somewhat heavy on my wrist (and I feel comfortable with the AT2000), I have no doubt it is destined to become a super-classic :-)
For comparison, I photographed it next to my own 7-day automatic.
..., and although I found it somewhat heavy on my wrist...
How heavy is the Yacht Club? The collection information of this site doesn't give that kind of information anymore.
A month ago I bought myself a new superwatch, but I couldn't find information on its weight anywhere either. On returning home I weighted it, on 45 mm it weights about 115 grams. Not too heavy, sitting great on the wrist.
Kind regards, Paul

Now what is this - Paul? "I bought myself a new superwatch" ...now it could be I missed the posting, but the very fact you do not disclose the Manufacturer at this time of this "Superwatch".....means, what exactly ?
Non IWC ? - Not a crime. Others have made that same mistake too you know :~)
Jokes aside, I believe I know what it would be - you've spoken about it for a a while. Does it meet your expectations - measure up to your Portuguese?

Hi Mark,
I have 9 IWC watches, bought in a period of 20 years. I love them all, they are great in their own right. There was no sporty divers watch amongst them, I find those of IWC a bit too colourful or even flashy. Following other fora too (like others here too, I discovered) I suddenly found the perfect superwatch, of a brand I already liked the last few years. It is a regular Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Maybe the next watch will be an IWC, but I'm not sure which one makes my heart jump (that is a must!). Maybe the steel VC Ingenieur, that is such a timeless classic watch. By the way, it seems the new watch is no mistake...
Kind regards, Paul

Paul Bloemen Wrote:Have the few happy ones that own a Yacht club weighted the watch? Can you tell us the weight of it? That would be appreciated, thank you very much.
While I don't own the new Yacht Club, the published specifications are: steel 134 grams red gold 181 grams In comparison, the 5001 is 95g and 115g, respectively, and the red gold Portuguese perpetual is 145g.
P.S. Sorry for a slight delay in replying --not all questions can be answered in a day or two, especially over a holiday weekend here. At least we're better than other companies' watch fora. ;)

I had a Fifty Fathom Black Knight which I sold after a year because it was difficult to read. The regular FF is a fine watch though.
