Hi Alan, I think the YC is a real 'Mr. Ross' watch ;-)
Looking at the pictures, I have a preference for the white dial which looks very fresh and I love the silver-colour! Haven't really tried it on afterwards!

I thought the white dial was great....until I tried on the black. I am going to take a another closer look next week at the Watchtime event here in Philly.

Now ladies and gents, someone said it a while back in a posting - and Paul now too begins to ask questions around the weight etc. of this watch. So what gives....
I do believe that whoever posted the original posting was right - this YC series (which raised almost as much discussion and many comments in the beginning as the CFDV did) - seems now to be well on it's way to become a iconic collectors piece!
Paul I believe the weight is in your preferred weight range - so try it on, when next near an AD. It might make your heart jump (and you have some watches in your collection that get my heart going too....so who knows)
I'll be surprised if many of us don't own one of these within the next few years.

I think it looks great and can't wait to see them in real life. I am afraid they might be a tad too big for my wrist, but that depends on how the strap is attached to the case.

Clemens, I tried one on at the Beverly Hills IWC Boutique last month and was pleasantly surprised that it fit my 17cm wrist without looking outsized. In fact, it felt very comfortable and looked terrific!
Best regards, Jim

Hey Clemens,
as a regular wearer of a BP you shouldn't worry about the size of the YC. It fits perfect and the black steel one looks in real life and on the wrist much better than on any picture. I was so amazed when I tried it on that I immediately decided to sell my other 2 watches to get it asap. ;-)

Well, my AD has put a hold on the black dial YC pending my careful examination of one at the Timezone event this evening. I am still on the fence with this decision but I have to make up my mind tonight or someone else will probably be wearing it.

Alan,
Take your credit card, pickup the Sportuguese and run. I saw the first black dial YC example at my AD here in the UK. I played with one in HK but it was a promotional dummy. It's a fabulous looking watch and it's very difficult to be critical about it. I would like to see one on an alligator strap. I have never got into the whole rubber thing although I wouldn't criticise anyone that way inclined. :-D

Hi Everyone,
I just picked up my Sportuguese, I mean YC, on Saturday. I've been waiting to buy an IWC for the past few years but couldn't decide between the chrono or the 7 day. When I first saw the YC online I fell in love with it, however once you see it in person it's a whole new level of appreciation. If you've got one on hold I would reccomend grabbing it because after speaking to many dealers, including the boutiques, they are sold well before they even recieve inventory.
I was really concerned about the watch being too big or looking ostentatious so I begged my dealer to give me first right of refusal upon receiving the black dial YC. He called me the mintue it came in and gave me 48 hrs. Before I got there he sold the white and red gold models. As soon as I put it on I couldn't take it off, it really didn't feel or look too big.
I feel very privileged to own this watch, I can't wait for my son to have it (hopefully a long time from now!).

Exactly right, this is one watch you have to try on. Pictures only take you so far.
