David, you just know that when it comes back - it will be like new - and it's such a special watch, that it's definately worth the waiting time.
But I guess the question you should be asking, is :
1) What/why is the balance-wheel bouncing (it's not like you had a Portuguese Sardine there since 1994?). 2) A complete revision is necessary...a complete service I could understand - but a revision? Anyone know if IWC made mods to this great caliber (ones that would require a revision?)

As one of our most (in-) famous presidents once said, I Feel Your Pain. Maybe you should treat yourself to another fine timepiece from your local dealer in the meantime?
About your picture- do you have a red strap on that watch? Would love to see a front view.
