When I came back from a meeting, I stopped by my AD, hoping he would have a Portuguese Yacht Club because after all the pictures and stories here, I really want to see this one for myself.
Unfortunately, he didn't have one but he showed me the Portuguese hand-wound. It's a very handsome watch and compared to my current watches it's very flat too!
Here are two pictures I took:
At the moment, I am not in the market for another watch (yet) and you all know that I want a Perpetual but it never hurts to look at other nice watches :-)

Hi Clemens,
I saw it lying in the shop window at the AD last week but unfortunately I had no time to go in. Looks great on the wrist indeed. Classic and understated. Did he also have a PPC lying around ;-)
Hope to see you soon!

I have seen both in Switzerland, both watches suffer when not ideally presented in a shop window, so you really have to put them on your wrist to make up your mind. On your wrist you can be assured about the readability, which in fact is excellent, whereas in the shop window the black one may suffer because of lack of reflection on hands and numbers, and the white one may suffer because the gold colour of hands and numbers is not clear enough. Both look great. But when interested in the black one, the VC version looks better in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Clemens. I'm not sure if I like or dislike the high contrast of the sub dial. Perhaps a lighter shade of grey (and a darker one on the black dial) would have made for a better balance. Overall though I like this one.
Clemens, the crystal seems somewhat domed in the first picture, is that right? I think that is a very nice touch.

Norbert, Unfortunately he didn't have a PPC. I did see a Da Vinci Kurt Klaus Perpetual though...
Kind regards,
Clemens

Hi Nelson,
Unfortunately my AD only had this white dial model. I would have liked to see them both too, I am not sure which model I would prefer.
Kind regards,
Clemens
