Hi,
Sorry I don't have any picture but I would like to share my second IWC purchase with all the wonderful members here. Here is some background:
5 years ago - My husband told me about this brand. I didn't know anything about IWC prior to that.
3 years ago - My husband emailed me a link to his dream watch, which is the 371417. I kept that email in my inbox, as a matter of fact, I still have it till this day.
December 2008 - I started looking into the 371417. I called all the ADs in my country for quotes on this watch.
November 2009 - I purchsed the above watch.
December 2009 - I found this wonderful forum when I was researching for a deployant buckle for the Portuguese Choronograph.
January 2010 - I surprised my husband with the above watch during his surprise 40th birthday party. A few days later, we went into our local AD and he tried on the deployant buckle. It fit so we got it.
August 2010 - I started looking into the 356405 for myself and found out it was sold out. I contacted around 20 ADs across 5 countries but I could not locate this watch. I was very disappointed. I have tiny wrists and I can't wear anything that's over 35mm. While I was in my local AD, I saw the Portofino 378303 and I fell in love with this watch. It looks so much nicer in real life compared to the stock photos.
Last week - I purchased the Portofino Chronograph and told my husband that's his early birthday gift for his 41st, which is 4 months away. He likes the watch very much.
5 years ago, I didn't know anything about IWC, thanks for this forum, I now know more about IWC than my husband. I told him about the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar months ago. He finally saw it last week and he now wants this watch. I told him I will get him that for his 50th birthday, now I just need to save up for it :)
Thanks for letting me share my story. I am officially an IWC fan and I hope IWC will make smaller watches for women so I can own an IWC one day.

Hi Juliana,
Well done, your husband must be a happy man. I regret that your search for the small Portofino was not successful. The Portuguese Perpetual Calendar is a grail watch to me. It is the type of watch it is worth while to wait for. I have mine almost seven years now, I never regretted buying it.
Kind regards, Paul

Wow, what a wonderful story. Thanks for sharing you passion for IWC and your adventures in pursing your and your husband's IWCs. I am wearing a PPC right now. If acquired, he will love it.

Great story! Don't worry about IWC's being too big for ladies, we have some ladies here who wear the large size just fine :-) -- Cheers from Isobars.
Juliana, Isobars is exactly right...the trend toward larger watches for women has made virtually all the IWC's now available a purchase to consider for yourself! I think you might be pleasantly surprised! I also echo what others have said...your husband is a very fortunate man!
Best regards, Jim

Hi Juliana,
thanks for posting this wonderful story. Now you're both drawn towards IWC. This is how it all starts. I know of nobody who ever got out of this ... ;-)
