Got a good look at the green dial at the Watchtime event. You would think a green dial would look odd but not this one. It is a great piece. MF says he will post some wrist shots when he gets back to Chicago. It is a keeper for sure.

MF Wrote:...Then I also was interested in the rare manual wind Yacht Club, with a calibre 89 movement. As “Moeb” reported on this forum in 2002, only 725 were produced from 1974 through 1979. The idea was to take some slow selling c. 89 movements and “move” them by putting them into IWC’s best seller. The watch was known as Ref. 2611... As you will note, the model came with either a silver or blue sunray dial. Except, I think, for at least one, which was added this week to my collection..
I am going to go out on a limb here, and play the dissenting note. Sorry Michael. :-)) I love the Yacht Club and would love to have a Ref 2611 with any color dial, except green. Green just does not seem right for a dial. It reminds me of the Boris Becker Portugieser Chronograph, a first line contender to the ugliest watch recently produced by IWC, IMHO.

About the Boris Becker watch, I fully agree. I just don't understand Boris Becker that he accepted this watch to carry his name. However, the colour green of Michael's watch is not that hard as that of the Boris Becker watch. It seems a mixture of green and brown, a bit of a rhubarb colour green. A bit sober, quite nice in my opinion. Ah well, de gustibus...
Kind regards, Paul

I have a similar opinion of green watches. Another bad one is the Z&C version of the doppel. However, this dial is different. I held it in my hand. It is a really nice looking piece.

I also got to handle this watch at the Philadelphia Watchtime event. The dial is stunning. It has a beautiful starburst quality and the shade of green is subtle and warm. I loved it. Regards, Dan

Green..green...green....I dont even have a normal Yacht Club (Peter has one I want - but need to get my PPC out the way first) - and then you shine with this emerald! I'm certainly green with envy.
I would like the red dial :)
Greetings, Martijn

Michael, you are now ecologically correct with a truly green watch!
Congrats on a great find,
