Do they note the delivery date and the name of the owner or do they only keep the delivery date to the authorized dealer and the name of the dealer ? Thanks.
Just the name of the dealer, not the end-consumer. You can write IWC at iwc.com if you want them to keep a record of your ownership (although presumably your dealer, as an agent of IWC, will keep that record).

If both the case number and movement number of a watch are recorded in the archives what happens in the event of a movement being replaced at service bearing a different number? Are the records held, updated?
Ivan, I was told they are. I also was told that applies to a replacement case, which happens very rarely but dan occur. Come to think of it, very few movements are replaced as well, since it's easy enough in almost all instances to totally break-down a movement and replace all problem parts during an overhaul.
