This is my first Iwc bought for my wife. Work needs to be done to get it working some broken parts balance, regulator, crown etc. I was wondering whether Iwc still repair the watch and whether parts are available. The movement no is 18 million series which I believe dates it to 1967. One other request would anyone have a copy of the exploded diagram typical for a watch repair use

Hi, some years ago I had the same problem. There were some parts to replace. Well, a few parts were available in Schaffhausen but the most weren't. So the watchmaker had to make those parts by himself. The whole thing took one year and USD 700. Today I would make it better: I would look at a cheap bargain at Ebay or other auctions and would use that movement as spare part storage or - if the movement is OK - just replace it. Good luck Hans
Much depends on what needs to be done. IWC would have to look at the watch to determine if they could fix it: they certainly have some parts in stock for it.
From what you describe, major surgery is required, with critical parts (balance, regualtor) needing work. Even if the parts are available, the cost may be in excess of the value in this instance.
On diagrams, check out the Fournitures in my Vintage Catalog Project http://www.iwcforum.com/Vintage_Catalogs.html I would guess, without checking, that there are illustrated parts lists but not schematics.
