Who here knows what this patch is for, and why is there a link to IWC? This was given to me as a gift from a very special IWC friend, and it is just back from the frame shop.

While being an officer at the Dutch Special Forces (Captain at the Green Barets, Holland) I ' ve trained with so called KAMPFSWIMMERS while attending the German Einzelkämpfer-Lehrgang I and II at the Luftlande-/Lufttransport-Schule in Altenstadt/Schongau (Germany). They all had the OCEAN BUND from IWC!!! I recogniced the symbol as their own. Brings back memories... cheers Bas Dekkers

Hi Nelson and hi to all, I would like to draw your attention to the following article in the latest edition of KLASSIK-UHREN: DIE IWC OCEAN BUND TAUCHERUHREN (THE IWC OCEAN BUND DIVING WATCHES) The article is by Adrian van der Meijden, Martin Doormann and me (all forumners). The article reveals news that you might not know (I am sure :=) In the same edition is an article about the pocket watches of the CORPS OF ENGINEERS by Thomas Koenig (IWC forumner). I don't know if this magazine is availabe in the USA. Here's a link: http://www.watchtime.net/zeitschriften/klassik-uhren/

I believe the Ocean Bunds are just wonderful watches. We will learn more about them as they become decommissioned, I guess.

I quite agree! I would really love to have one someday. I've been intrigued by them since I read MF's excellent article about the Ocean Bunds
Best regards,

Jim
