My wife and I are spending 10 days in and around Rome and having a wonderful time. Today I spotted the elusive Deep Two Aquatimer and had a chance to try it on. It is lighter than I thought it would be and the blue on the bezel just radiates. Store lighting was not good but I did the best I could.
We also had an opportunity to have dinner with Roberto and Cristina and I must say they went out of their way to welcome us and celebrate our time together. The forum is responsible for this gathering and the making of good friends and I cannot say enough to thank Roberto and Cristina for their hospitality. Here are the pics....

As has been said many times before, having these informal GTG's is one of the magnificent benefits of being an IWC Collector's Forum member. Glad you are enjoying the friends, food, and sites in IT.

I can tell you from personal experience you hooked up with the two best hosts in Rome...Roberto and Cristina! It appears that everyone had a great day! BTW I think the Deep Two looks great on your wrist. Enjoy your visit to the Eternal City and send us some more photos when you have the opportunity!
Best regards, Jim

Alan, it was the least I could do for a Chicago Cubs supporter like me! :D Say "Hi" for me to your lovely half :)
It was a real pleasure to meet you and I thank you for the wonderful time spent together. I'm also thankful to this forum for the wonderful people I had the privilege to meet and that's why I think this forum is great!
I hope I'll have the chance to see you soon!

Jim, you're too kind but I think you're exaggerating a little, I did nothing :)

I visited a second watch store today and they also had a Deep Two in the showcase. Clearly those who have been waiting for this watch should be able to find one.

Good to see you are having such a great time Alan. Not to mention your great company. Concerning the Deep Two, I have always liked it and I remember your comments back in Schaffhausen a couple of years ago about this watch. I like it very much especially on the rubber and I would love one. But first things first...

Very cool Alan. I was just in Rome over the summer and stopped at a store on a high-end shopping street near the Spanish steps, which may be the one you were at. Was tjhe Deep 2 tempting you?

That was one of the stores. I really like the watch and was tempted but I will await the new offerings in a few months. It was more about getting the word out since there had been some questions on the Forum about the Deep two a few weeks ago.

Nice to see the four of you smiling and enjoying the company!
I tried the Deep Two on a bracelet and found that the bracelet is too thin for this "top-heavy" watch, just my opinion :-)
Ciao!!!!
Cheers,
Nad

The deep2 looks very commanding on your wrist.
