Dear Michael,
I am thrilled to join this fantastic forum just for IWC. There has been one question in my mind for a long long time. I hope you can help me to find out a reliable and detailed solution.
What is this mysterious 30110 calibre all about? heavily modified ETA?
I personally had a look at this movement once.
From my eyes, I can only see a strandard ETA 2892-A2 inside. Nothing Special!!
As a owner of Mark XVI. I am proud and desperate to find out
exactly what drives my watch going. Please help me! Thank you very much.
Most of these changes to the 2892-A2 would be very difficult to see with the naked eye. Have every confidence the IWC 30110 is built to IWC exacting standards.
As an aside the A2 designation was the result of IWC changes, see under the the post titled; more..., in the following.

Thanks Cellar. These articles were written some years back. I wonder what is the story with the current version of 30110. I personally had a look at this movement this year. It looks very ordinary. I guess the finish on the movement must be better than those 2892 version used on Longines watches etc. Anyway. IWC is IWC. I have no regret with my Mark XVI. At least the face of watch is IWC's in-house design.
