Dear members of this forum,
I just learned (yes, I have been away from the watch world for a while now) that IWC has published a very big book on its history, stories and collections. I am tempted to buy this book blind but being an experienced bibliophile--especially with oversized and hefty books--I thought I should ask those of you who already own this book a few questions before I commit to this purchase.
Since I am a ardent fan of the GST line as well as the older PD watches, may I ask if this book provides adequate coverage on these two collections? By 'adequate' I refer to new and unpublished photos, comprehensive documentation, new stories and accounts on these two collections.
Another reason I asked was due to my experience at the museum at Schaffhausen. I was back at the factory last in June for a quick repair and while waiting, I stepped briefly into the museum. I was quite surprised to find that neither the GST nor the PD pieces were represented in commensuration with the breadth in pieces as well as their horological innovations. Instead, I think the collection was curated according to thematic themes. Nonetheless, I am hoping the book can provide an adequate coverage that may address the curatorial decision of the museum.
Many thanks and much appreciated for your views and feedbacks on this book,

I am delighted with the book, which has insights into the history of IWC. As a collector, it is a worthwhile purchase. However, I fear you will be disappointed if you are looking for specific insights into the PD and GST ranges. There is much on the history of the current IWC sub-brands and the 2010 range is comprehensively covered. That may date book in future years but all histories have got to stop somewhere sometime.
