i just purchased a new 3782 the booklet says to find out the depth it can go visit www;iwc.com/water- resistance but this site does not seem to exist. what is the actual dept this watch can go to? also is there any problem using the watch in the shower, relating to if soap might have a negative effect on the seals thanks
The website reference doesn't exist anymore; this website was changed in August of this year, and your watch was presumably produced before then.
The water resistance is 120 meters (although I thought I recalled the exact number, I just checked via Google). By the way, you can use the chrono pushers under water, a relatively unique characteristic.
Running water over the watch, like from a shower, won't hurt it, but getting the watch soapy could allow water to enter through the chrono pusher area.

Thanks for the quick reply Another question, I noticed on other IWC diving watches, a black band over the case back, which my watch does not have What is this for and why missing on some, or at least mine?

Hi there,
That black band is just a black strip on the sticker protecting the back. Usually, the sticker is removed when the watch is sold, so you don't miss anything.
By the way, congratulations on your new watch. Enjoy and wear it in good health.

great information -- I had basically the same questions after purchasing my ref 3767. Very helpful.
