This is my first post. Hope the link to the picture works.
I have had this watch 32 yrs. It has just returned from IWC after its first ever service. Service, polish, crystal, new crown, re-lume, new hands but worth it in the end and i wear it almost daily.
Unfortunately the dial does have some damage and the cost to re finish it was just too much and i don't know if it would have looked the same as the original. The only slight regret i have is that i allowed IWC to changed the hands and i still don't understand why IWC suggested they need changing.

Yes it is a manual wind Cal 89. Apparently there were only few made with the blue face.
In terms of accuracy i can report the following: I fully wound the watch and set the time according to a "Radio / atomic clock" I fully wound the watch each day at the same time for 5 days. On the 5th day, the watch had gained 30 sec.
I think that is pretty damn good for a mechanical watch.

I am sure, that this watch will still be going strong in another 32 years time.
Thanks for posting - especially with the photo.
Best regards
