I cannot recall seeing a specific magnetic rating for the Mark XVI but IWC used to state - "IWC pilot's watches are protected to at least 24,000 A/m." from page 57 of the 2004 catalogue. This was prior to the Mark XVI and the re-introduction of the Ingenieur in 2005 saw IWC focus on the higher rating of those watches.
I would be very surprised if the Mark XVI is less than 24,000 A/m.
Thanks for your reply. I'll try to ask IWC directly and let you know. I assume that even if they do not test currently produced watches, one can calculate on a computer how good the shielding is. So they should know.
How good is the magnetic shielding of Mark XVI: how many A/m it is supposed to withstand ?
I am looking for the official IWC rating for this watch.
Thanks for advice,
Bogdan
BTW: I did try to find the answer on the forum.
