Is this a thing for the future ? It's already happening with some watches Is it a good idea to have watches "chipped" at the time of production so that they can be verified on line easily at any time ? From a security angle seems to good idea. What is IWC's thinking on the subject ? would it be too costly ?.....what do members think?
I know of no major manufacturer that chips their production watches today, but that may be my insularity. Some, like Vacheron, Cartier and Breguet, do special engravings or laser-etching.
