I've had so many watches I seldom look for one, but I do have a "short list", at least in my mind. These might include, for example, a "fishtail" cal. 71 or 72 pocketwatch, the Schuetzenuhr wristwatch from 2005, etc. In this case, I wasn't actively searching for one --I've only seen 2 or 3 in the past 10 years. They are clearly rarer than vintage Portuguese.
Here, a watch friend of mine contacted me and asked if I was interested. And of course I am, at least if the price is right....

Correct me if I am wrong but it also looks like this watch is one of the few with both the IWC letters and the script writing. It also has an unusual (for IWC) pointer for the date number.
A great find and a definate important piece of iWC history
