Can anyone tell me about the 100-unit edition of the 5001 being made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Taiwan's independence? From the pics I have seen, it will have a white/silver dial with black/anthracite numerals, hands & indices and is cased in steel (a combo I have dreamed of). Will it be a worldwide release or only available in the Taiwan boutiques? AD's? Any idea re MSRP? Release date?
If I recall there's some prior info here if you try the search function. But the version is for Taiwan only. You're correct about the description; the price should be about the same or just a little more than the regular 5001. I'd suggest contacting a boutique in Taiwan for more information.
Good luck --and if tou get one please post a photo here!

Thanks Michael-
I called the Taipei 101 boutique, but couldn't communicate with the sales person as she didn't speak english. I emailed but haven't heard back yet...any ideas?
If it were me, I'd call one of my friends at one of the Hong Kong Boutiques and ask if they could help (directly or even as a translator, as a special favor).
A few suggestions:
1. the IWC Boutique at Prince's Building (852) 2525 5323 ask for Oliver Talon or Eric Au Yeung
2. the IWC Flagship Boutique (852) 2525 5323 ask for Gary Soloveicik, the manager
One of the issues is that I'm not sure the boutiques there can ship out of the country; sometimes dealers can.
Since this forum is non-commercial, e-mail me if you need follow-ups but, frankly, I'm not sure I have much further to add.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks!!
Good luck --and if tou get one please post a photo here!
Regards, Michael
