It was a great holiday drawing, in the sense that we had some outstanding contributions about ideas for watches in the future.
The one disappointing aspect of the drawing, at least from my perspective, was that the number of entries were approximately half of what we have had in prior drawings. This was true notwithstanding the large number of special prizes, and the fact that we have not had a drawing for some time. I suspect that this occurred due to the nature of our forum whereby we have sub-forums and one has to hunt around to find a listing of any post. In all events, this does mean that there are more prizes relative to the total number of participants, and there was close to a 50% chance of winning.
Before announcing the prize winners, I want to award two special prizes:
• To cellar, who came up with an incredible idea of the Chinese perpetual calendar. I have already mentioned this to certain product people in Schaffhausen. • To Larry Seiden, who came up with an extraordinarily clever idea for a woman’s watch, even though I am not sure that he fully understands IWC’s DNA ;)
If you haven't already, you need to read their entries --they both are brilliant. Both of these members are going to receive special prizes – IWC USB travel kits. They include several computer accessories, which will forever link these individuals electronically to IWC.
Given that I promised 20 gifts, and this means that there are also 18 winners selected at random. These people will receive items such as a keychain, money clip, IWC notebooks, IWC Aquatimer or Galapagos books, wallets, hat, wine carrying cases, a watch case, etc. Given the number of different gifts that I have, but without duplicates in many instances, everyone’s gift will be a surprise and, unfortunately, there can’t be any choices.
The 18 winners are as follows:
clepsydra Charles2 Tilo Hillenbrand flyrobyfly36 JustB Argiris Develegas luciuss cinq dzul Kevin J. Devine Rave Vahalis Telecaster Nelson Herring Evan Nano Julx termolen Phil
For the winners to claim their gifts, please write me at mfriedberg@iwcforum.com, and include in the subject line of your e-mail 2010 Holiday Drawing. Please include in the body your name (in addition to your forum name) and postal mailing address.
I will try to send everything out within the first few days of next week, so that everything hopefully will be received before Christmas.
Congratulations to all the winners, and Happy Holidays to All.

Yes, Cellar and Larry certainly deserve special consideration. Good job guys. Wouldn't it be amazing if Cellar's idea actually resulted in a watch???!!!!! I would be so excited for you, Greg! Thanks Michael for the fun contest. Nelson

Thank you MF!
To me, it was the most challenging and brilliant contest yet. My muse was the dream of selling a million watches for IWC. And of course, by accomplishing such an amazing feat, I would get an appearance on Oprah! (I should at least acknowledge those "small" manufacturers -- Seiko and Casio).
And, thanks MF, for a most appropriate prize for a geek like me. And, "props" to Greg (Cellar) for taking the spirit of the contest and running with it.

Congratulations to all participants and winners, especially to Greg and Larry, as I see a future for both of their ideas but Larry's post was funny and very clever at the same time, definitely my favorite, for what it counts.
Thank you Michael and IWC for another great drawing!
