Hello all
this forum has been great to read and learn new information however i still have some curiosities...
If i remember well movements and cases are made in IWC headquarters (or at least assembled) while dials and hands are outsourced to other companies in Switzerland.
Since i was discussing with i friend we had conflicting information about who was producing the hands. I thought i read somewhere they were produced by a factory named A-Jin/ Momo plus gmbH and my friend said he thought it was from Aiguilla SA.
Is it possible that the hands from different models are made in different factories?
And the dials, lets say for example the 3714 where are they actually made? It would be great to have a photo view from these factories on the process of manufacturing of these parts.. I remember seeing one picture on dial "stamping" which was really nice, and i hoped more would follow.
When the 3714 changed the way of production of the numbers in the dials from hot embossed to applied numbers, does it have anything to do with changing the company who made them or its was a decision by IWC? And if yes why was that?
And my last question why is that the IWC 79350 is nickel plated while the old one was 79320 was gold plated? Was it an economical decision or there was more to it?
Hope the community can help me out on this curiosities.
IWC use hands from Aiguilla SA http://www.aiguilla.ch/home.htm as outlined in Watch International # 3 2004. The article discusses the manufacturing process.
I do not know what IWC have used in the past, whether it was the same supplier or one of several.

Hi
Thank you all.
Indeed it should not matter, it was just a friendly discussion like i have mentioned and we were both curious to know... I think even that same components can be made in different factories, actually.
I want to learn more on the manufacturing of other watch components, since usually everything is focussed on the movement, which is understandable.
I fell that the other watch parts are often underrated, since a watch will likely sell more if it has an attractive dial/hands configuration for example than the movement it has.
I will try to read that edition of the watch international.. thank you for that precious info.
The idea of getting to know the factories was also to try to learn more on process of manufacturing and obtain information so that when we decided to make a trip to CH, we try to include a couple of different companies to visit, if they allow of course, and why not companies that make parts to IWC...
