Hello Forum members! Today, the chemist in me was revived whe we received a present (Ice cake, if that's the word in English) shipped in a box with solid CO2 to keep it frozen.
Unfortunately, we didn't have any acetone, but the effect with water was not too bad, it just lasts shorter.
One of my colleagues wanted me to put the watch in the glass but I am not mad, even though my pictures might suggest otherwise :-)
With a digital thermometer, we determined that the temperature in the box was minus 47.5 degrees Celcius.
Later that day, well after the experiment a client came by and he was wearing a Ingenieur 3227 AMG in Titanium. Unfortunately, I was in another meeting and I was only able to speak to him for two minutes. I would have loved to take a few shots of the two watches togeter. Maybe next time!

Very nice smoke screen, Clemens: I like my liquor, only if it is ice and ice cold (maybe only to be recognised by Dutch advertisement experts). The next time we meet I will take my titanium Inge with me, then you can take your picture.
Kind regards, Paul

Clemens, that Ingenieur looks so COOL ......I really would like to have one with a dial that color too!
Down here - south of the Big Rivers ...I probably could get a similar shot by stepping out the front door and putting my Inge on the ground......only, it would be my face not the dial turning blue (from the cold). Lots and lots of white stuff covering everything, and making things look like the watch in your photo.
I'm wearing yesterday and today the CFDV - heavy metal to wear in the sub zero conditions out there - but a joy in any case to have on the wrist.
Merry Christmas, Happy new Year and look forward to the next CTG....
