It only took over a month, even with express shipping (whew --I was worried), but from Eastern Europe I received a very rare watch, an IWC Calibre 22. These are among the earliest of the Seeland models, which followed the Jones. This watch, from the late 1870s, is from a relatively obscure period in IWC's history. And, boy, do I love how "International Watch Co." is signed on the movement....
I now have a collection of three Seelands, this Cal. 22 and Calibres 24 and 26. I'll have a family portrait done later this week.

I took your advice and pasted the URL address into the browser...and wow...a large pic of this great movement. The IWC signature is very cool! Congratulations on a special holiday treat, Michael!
Best regards, Jim

Absolutely stunning !!!
Michael, I am sure like me the other forum members are overjoyed at the fact of seeing you continue to derive pleasure out of growing your collection - and doing so, not in volume BUT with these stunning and unique time pieces. The "beat up" William Tell timepiece posted earlier this month by you was special - this calibre 22 just makes the top! And it looks like it's in really great shape too....I particularly like the engraving on the adjustment plate.

Love the writing, the satellite screws, the balance cock engravings, the 5 digits number, simply everything, simply fantastic.
Is the watch associable to a high (or highest) degree of quality level and, in this case, what letter it should correspond to?

Roberto
