Aloha all!
I picked up three IWC watches in 2010.
In December 2009 I lost a month long jury trial that I could have won and I was feeling pretty dejected. In early January 2010 the AD called me to tell me that they had some special edition Big Pilots so I went down and I got a great deal which really cheered me up!
About four months later I was walking down the sidewalk to the Apple store to buy a new mouse when all of a sudden a salesman from the AD came running down the sidewalk to tell me that they just got another special edition Big Pilot so instead of just buying a mouse I ended up with another really nice Big Pilot.
Near the end of 2010 I was finally able to pick up a Big Pilot 5003 from a seller who was willing to really work with me on the price. Earlier, I had passed up two BP 5003s because I thought the price was too high.
It’s hard to say which is my favorite. The rose gold BP gets a lot of comments from women while watch buffs are interested in the BP 5003. I really like the Big Pilot special edition for Japan because the dial really captures the understated aesthetic of Japanese beauty.

Tracy - I like each and every one of those watches. Each one is special and each one tells a story. White dialed classic clean lines - takes my real fancy though....
Larry, Yes agreed we love our children equally..however my kids start to believe that I love my IWC's more than I love taking them on holiday (they are all young adults now - so I believe that they might be calling it correctly, but not justifiably correct). Like you, I have added both vintage and new models to the colection this past year.
Alan, blue is the color ! That is ever so special a watch - and you can forever gladly blame MF for posting it up here and wetting the appetite.World cup sentiments (bad loser) prevent me from passing comment on that other nice watch of yours.

2010 brought me 5 new IWCs. If my wife reads this, I may be lying in a shallow grave somewhere.
1. DFB Doppel
2. Ingenieur 866
3. Boutique Aquatimer
4. LA Boutique Big Pilot (ol' blue as Nelson calls it)
5. AMG Ingenieur
How do I pick? BTW, the 866 just returned from a spa trip to Schaffhausen and as soon as I can take some pics, I'll post a "before and after" shot.
I'm looking forward to what 2011 (and SIHH) will bring.
Happy New Year to all,
Larry

Cheers from Isobars.
3548 Cousteau - 'cos I've always fancied one (isn't the blue very blue!):
3536-03 - to replace one I foolishly let go a couple of years ago.
Have a good one :)
