Happy New Year everyone. I am a long time lurker and infrequent poster. Love the forum and always reading the posts. I hope to try to contribute in the new year.
I love the Big pilot line and posted some pics yesterday on Timezone. I just got a new lens and am still on a big learning curve. I only purchased my first and second IWC this year. It was this one that hooked me when i walked into the BH Boutique this past april to look at Big pilots (for the hundredth time). The chocolate brown made me melt. I did not even think about it, i just pulled out the credit card. I will post pics of my other 2010 purchase when i take pictures. Hope you like the pics (I know I need to work on the lighting).

Welcome to the Forum in this New Year. I hope to see more of your lovely St. Ex BP in the future. You have a great IWC to share with us.
I hope you don't mind, if I made a small edit to your pictures to bring out some of the true color of your photo.
OT, but some ideas for your photography experiments:
The issue here is more White Balance. You also shot this as ISO 1600 which will be a bit grainy. Try to get the lighting right, use a tripod, aim for F8 or more for more depth of field, and lower the ISO to 200 or less. The lower the better. It is very difficult to capture the beauty of the Brown St. Ex Dial. I have the St. Ex Power Reserve and have not yet found a way to really get a shot of the magnificent dial color.

I don't think "the issue" is white balance - I agree with Cinq that warm lighting is very appropriate for the St. Exupery's brown dial although I can understand why you would prefer your picture.

In my opinion, the light of the setting sun is very appropriate to take pictures of the brown dials of the St Exupéry models:
Kind regards,
Clemens
