Hello Nad,
this is a very private opinion of course but since you ask... this watch deserves leather only...I don't like the original TG strap as well for that reason. But excellent pictures- again...

Have a nice day Tom
Thanks Tom.
I have to admit that I was 'lukewarm' to it after I completed the swap, but got too lazy to change back, LOL!!
I don't think that this strap combo really works for the Doppel because I find that the strap looks too 'flimsy' on this dynamic watch!

I think the "Top Gun" sail cloth/nylon/kevlar strap looks really good on this ceramic doppel. It is a sporty watch, it can use a sporty strap. I know what I talk about, my dressy diver has the same kind of strap: it not only looks sharp, it wears fantastic too. Lately I discovered a special colour combination if you like some alligator experiment: the colour is a kind of honey gold light yellow/brown, not an even colour but a bit structured along the scales. A picture would help, but that would be inappropriate here. Suffices to say that it looks absolutely stunning on a black watch, at least to me. Nad, as you have about a million straps, maybe one that comes close is in your collection, and you could try it.
Kind regards, Paul, wearing rose gold VC Portuguese

Paul's post reminds me that, although the standard TG strap looks like nylon, it is some other combination. (Kevlar?) Anyway, I first got the idea to switch straps from MF who suggested it while we were in Schaffhausen several years ago for a Forum Collector's meeting. At first I did not want to give up the "Pilot" look of the leather strap but I have not changed back in two years. Also this strap is very comfortable and sturdy.

Alan, I've had the Blue Pilot gator on the Doppel for so long, that maybe I just got used to that look.
I'm going to live with this combo for a few more days and let you know how I feel then, LOL!!!!!

Well, the OEM looks better to me. It is described as "soft strap", that can of course be anything. Any information on the materials used? I read kevlar somewhere, another brand calls it sail cloth: is it all the same?

It resembles the Top Gun strap but is not OEM, but the look and quality is almost identical!
What do you think........yes, no, maybe so????!!!!!!!!!!!!
This morning's combo, with shirt ;-))))
Cheers,
Nad

Here is a better picture of the OEM strap. You'll notice that the stitching is different.
