I recently inherited this watch from my father. I suspect that he got it from my grandfather or he bought it himself quite young.
It has the "fish" logo on the crown. Any help you could get me on the manufacturing year? I think that it was purchased either in Lisbon or in Funchal (Madeira Island). Another possibilty is a visit to Berlin just after the end of World War 2.
I don't intend to sell it, but could you give me an estimate on its value?

Nice watch - showing lots of character.
The best way to approach this, would be to take it to a authorised IWC dealer, and have them open mthe case and noting BOTH the serial numbers of the case (usually on the inside case back) as well as the serial number of the movement.
If you posgt those 2 serial numbers here (or use them in the iutility called Date my IWC (google it) , you will get a pretty good idea of date of manaufacture. However, even better you can also write to IWC and for a nominal amount (60 CHF I believe) they will issue you an Extract from the Official IWC registers, and this will list the exact dates, and also probably where and when it was first sold.
As this forum is non commerical, we dont typically repond to questions aound SALE value, etc. Try looking at similar watches and what they go for on the internet auction sites for.
