I was at my AD yesterday in the hop he could give me an update on delivery date of the PPPC. I left the store at around 14h00. At around 17h00 3 mean entered the store (despite the security guard always present) and after knowing down and beating the guard, robbed the store at gun point. They left the store and unbelievable as it is, the public started to chase them. The thieves, being pursued then fired shots off in the street. Luckily no one was hit, and the thieves were caught and overpowered and are in custody.
No details yet, if they caught them all (certainly the 3 that were in the store were apprehended) , and it's not know if they got any "score" - but I doubt it.
I am only thankful no one got hurt - although I dare say, that if these idiots had got away, and had stolen my PPPC (had it arrived) - then I would have hunted them down myself, and then there would be no guarantee that no one would not have got hurt!

This thing also happens all around the world and not restricted.
My AD was also held up by 6 guys at gun point about 4 years ago (in Basel Switzerland). Within 2 minutes they got away with in excess of 2 million CHF worth of watches and jewellery. Around 40 IWC watches were in their loot and not even one of the items have been recovered. The set if 6 guys then handed all the "loot" to 6 guys on motorbikes and the miraculous thing is that it was midweek and mid-afternoon.......
Your right - the important thing is no one was injured or harmed. After all a watch is nothing compared to life or health.

Mark, I am glad you timing was right and you were not there and are safe. Alan and I have an AD in our market that was robbed at mid-day a couple of year's ago. The staff was quite shaken when the store was stormed with guys wielding sledge hammers to break the display case glass. They escape with several hundred dollars in watches, but were eventually caught.

Scary story.. My AD has been robbed a few times already and things are getting nastier each time. Too bad that so many can't keep their hands off of stuff they don't own.
I am glad to hear nobody got hurt physically, but I the psychologic impact isn't neglectible.

Good that they catch the thieves and no one was injured.
