Hello IWC and dear Forum members,
I genuinely love the new IWC website. However, two things that has changed when the refresh occured:
A) The Forum is no longer private (it used to only be visible to members who have signed in, now anyone on the website can view it); B) It currently displays members full names by default (whereas this data was not visible on the old site).
I am sure that IWC can appreciate and respect its members desire for privacy. In the future, please ensure that when a user chooses to be identified via alias that this is not violated.
Also, even though members can change their profiles and have their alias displayed retroactively instead of their names in their Forum posts, the same is not true for comments made on product pages within the "Collection" section. Comments and names are not editable in these pages. I invite IWC to ensure that these are also updates in the same manner as Forum posts are when users change their profiles.
Please, feel free to delete this post and thread when the issue is resolved.

Hi Julx,
I am aware of this. However, my main issues are that:
A) Everyone's full name was revealed in the website refresh/switchover. B) Even if you do change you nickname, comments made in the "Collections" section juxtaposed to a watch (technically outside the forum and in the product area) display one's full name and are not updates automatically when one's profile settings are changed as in the Forum.

Hi, Phil. It looks like IWC has resolved the full name privacy issue. Thanks, IWC!
Now the "Display Name" you choose in your profile settings is the name that's shown when you comment on watch pages, comment on articles, and comment in the forums. They're all the same.
The effect is retroactive as well. Your current Display Name setting will be applied to all of the comments you made in the past, and if you change your setting that will be retroactively applied as well.

Hi Sam,
It looks like you're right!
Thank you IWC for looking into this so swiftly. It's small measures like this which lead to a vibrant online community, something which I believe is unique to this fine company.

You can change your "appearance" in the profile of your acount. Once you do this all your messages will appear with your Nick.

Hover your cursor over the Hello on the top line where it says "Hello, Norberts" and scroll down.
