Since this new IWC forum software I can find my forum entries through Google: I am not sure I like this. In the previous IWC fora, the old and the intermediate, this was not possible. I see that the communication happens through http, where in the previous fora https was used. Will this be corrected? As far as I can see my entries in other fora like TimeZone cannot be found, this is what I prefer from the point of vew of privacy, and protection.
Kind regards, Paul, not sure I want to mention what I wear

Yes Paul it would appear that you can search the current and the previous version of the Forum but not the Archive.
You don't even have to be logged into the Forum to view the search (I searched from a computer that was booting using Slax to boot from the CD so it contained no cookies or history).
Why sign up to view exclusive content when you can simply do a search?
eg google - iwc collectors forum exclusive michael

In the Forum profile, I can't even choose to display my nickname instead of my full name.. I remember having read that this was a known bug, I hope it will be fixed soon...

I think it is a obvious and legitimate way to bring more quality contents about IWC to the internet. May be before there was a supposed privacy that did not really exist. Of course the exclusiveness of this forum is significantly degraded.
@ Clemens: It is possible to change what is displayed as your name. I just did it when I read this thread. ;-) In the profile settings you have to click in the upper half of the field DISPLAY NAME when an arrow cursor is dispayed instead of a pointing hand. Then a small menu appears where can choose ALIAS.

Well, the comments in the past were written under the assumption that the content was more or less protected, at least from views of non-members. I wrote freely about my watches. My wife could find some of my posts, and she objects, stating that our neighbours, or people that helped restructuring our house can find this information. Frankly, she, a bit more then I, is afraid of getting burglared or mugged: that also happens in the town we live in. Because of this, I may have to consider to take down all my posts in the past if this issue is not corrected, and be more careful what I post from now on. Hopefully restating the security settings here leads to the disappearing of this information to be found with Google. I already tightened up my Facebook settings, only opening up to friends I know, and luckily I was not so forewarding there or at TimeZone.
Please Michael, I need some action here. If nothing changes, I will have to ask you to delete all my posts until now.
Kind regards, Paul

Cellar-
I just did a Google Search for "Kokoro IWC" and a post that I did in 2005 came up - I was asking for information about a watch that I was considering buying - the Big Pilot. (LOL)
The Google results seem inconsitent. I ran some date range searches on the site, eg for 2004, 2005 and from August 2010 to date and some posts show up and others don't.

I tried to find with Google posts of me in TimeZone, I failed to find myself. Obviously this is not the case with the IWC forum anymore. I am a bit more careful at TimeZone than here, as this IWC forum was closed, and more like a family. These confidentiality rules were changed here, the posts are available to Google, which I don't like: until now I was quite difficult to find in Google, not anymore, and with desirable assets.
Is IWC going to change this, so that the posts are no longer available to Google? You see, this is not only my concern anymore in my house. My problem? Maybe, but I could not anticipate this change of rules, as they were adhered to so strongly in the recent past. I think IWC should know, and I really would like to have an answer of them on this policy. Only if it stays as it is, and you cannot accomodate my wish then, I will have to write to IWC myself.
Kind regards, Paul

eg google - iwc collectors forum exclusive michael
and top of the list is Exclusive Photos of the new Calibre 59210
It makes a nonsense of exclusive content and not having other sites link to it.
If IWC wanted to allow German/English and English/German translation I'm sure they could have found other means.

I'm surprised by your concern, given your frequent participation on another, public Internet watch forum, including stating watches you own.
I also think people learning what's going on here could always, easily and anonymously, do so.
