I have long admired those 'behind the wheel" Nad shots. The perfect focus, sharp looking watches and view out the windscreen.
So here was I thinking, that I would post a quick shot of myself wearing my new IW502121 Blue Dialed PPC.
Well, as the results speak for themselves, I wont add much words....but, needless to say, it's no where near Nad's great shots, the photo was at a 50 degree angle, one could not see the steering wheel (neither the watch really - and that is meant to be the whole essence of "the NAD shot", and in I did not even manage to get an iota of any sceneary visible out of the front window!
Nad, I bow to the master....will sign up for lesson next time I see you.

Mark, on technical points you failed because:-
1) The outside temeperature was 3.5 celsius which means there is the chance you could have been on black ice at any moment. 2) You were travelling at 170 kph or 106 mph which equates to over 47 meters per second or if your prefer over 51 yards per second 3) Your left hand was at 2 o'clock on the steering wheel and your right hand was hanging on to the camera or phone and your eyes were looking heaven knows where.
Have to ask, were you drunk or did you take leave of your senses. Count yourself lucky that nothing untoward happened in front of you as last year I saw a car that had just overtaken a 40 ton truck lock its front wheels and swerve broadside in front of the truck. Cooked engine or gearbox, I guess. Now the car was doing maybe 100kph and the lorry about 90kph and the distance the car was in front of the truck was maybe less than 3 meters whilst the truck driver slammed on the brakes and swerved into the outside lane and nearly took out two cars that were lining up to overtake the truck on a 3 lane motorway. If you are so bored with life that you want to play Russian roulette, then I can not stop you, but do not use a car at 170kph as no-one involved as a traffic cop or in the courts would be singing your praises. Now what is the speed limit on Dutch roads? This is a forum for people who own and admire watches which cost a respectable amount of money that some people do not earn in even a year. Yet we have forum members who can not see that a car at 170kph will kill anyone in its way when you are not concentrating on driving. I have had someone step out in front of me whilst I was doing 25mph, his head cracked the windscreen and bent the wiper blade and left him concussed and I stopped the vehicle with him pinned to the ground under the front left tyre and it left his ankle skin peeled like an orange. Try stopping a 22 bullet weighing less than 30 grains whilt travelling at less than 300 meters a second. You are driving a car that probably weighs easily over 1000kgs at 47 meters per second. In other words the bullet will not send you flying back 10 meters but the car will, big time.
I wish everyone a safe trip home and to work and to the shops and I pray that everyone of you can see what an idiot can do behind the wheel of a car.
Greg, I agree with you that it is risky behavior, but I let each person make his or her own decisions. I appreciate what you say, and I can say that the forum absolutely doesn't endorse this.
However, I also would ask that you (and everyone) express themselves politely...no name calling like "idiot" or asking if they're drunk, etc. You can make the same point in a gentlemanly way. I've seen too many Internet forums devolve into snake pits, and it's something I can't have here.

Well, its pretty obvious to me that the reason the picture is so bad is precisely because Mark's eyes were on the road. Come on guys ...we have been through this before. Lighten up. I spent a fair amount of time with Mark during SIHH and an idiot is not what I would call him.

I did not call Mark an idiot.
But what do you call people who drive in excess of 100 mph and are actually engaged in another activity which requires the use of their hands in an incorrect position relative to driving. The speed limit in the UK is 70mph and in Holland it is 120kph (75mph)
100mph+ in the UK means bye bye to driving when caught, now add whilst taking a photograph and see how the courts would react.
Mark may be a great guy, but do you want him coming up behind you in a car when he has that lovely PPC and a camera to hand whilst travelling at 31mph over the national speed limit?

I am certain Mark was on the Autobahn on his way back to the Netherlands. He was way under the speed limit.

This discussion was had a year or two ago following an equally reckless posting.
Nad (now) takes his shots whilst stationary at traffic lights. Hence full attention on the task at hand.
The blue dial PPC is a gorgeous watch, please enjoy safely and responsibly.
