Hello All!
This is my first post. I recently acquired an IWC through FleaBay. It was one of four watches for $73.00. It is a mid-size wristwatch contained within a round 14K yellow gold Cresarrow case, has a functioning Cal. 83 IWC movement, and somewhat disappointing dial. It appears the previous owner had it refinished from silver-white to champagne and gasp! glued on gold-tone Arabic numerals!
I am aware of the tarrif issue these American contract pieces tried to bypass, and since the movement is running well, wish to replace the dial with new-old-stock or have it refinshed.
I have tried to research this timepiece the best I could, however, can find really nothing that comes close, save a mid-size Tiffany model on Google. In fact, the case and movt. calibre are exact, except I have a sub-seconds dial and the one online has a sweep center seconds hand.
I have been told that sometimes the back of the dial was stamped by the manufacturer, whether IWC, Cresarrow, etc. I will be looking tonight after work, and hopefully will have another piece of the puzzle.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. All the best. VIT

Hello. Yes, the person who sold it did not know what he had! I also got a circa 1930 Hamilton, a circa 1950 Day-Date Benrus, and a circa 1930 Benrus with hooded lugs. All they needed (except the IWC, was a little oil and off they went!
