Hi everyone
I'm hoping to buy my first IWC soon and am very attracted to the new Portofino range. I've contacted my local stockist who has no idea of when these will be available in the UK nor any idea of pricing. Surely IWC have a recommended retail price list published as issued with their beautiful books? I've seen the approximate price range but this doesn't help me when trying to decide what I can afford! Thanks in anticipation.

Welcome to the IWC Forum Charles. I would say early summer the watches ll be available, as far as pricing you have to contact your AD since pricing differs from country to country. Alternatively you can call IWC UK.
For pricing I suggest you call an authorized dealer. Our forum rules exclude pricing --even list prices-- since they vary by country and since the discussion here is non-commercial. People also can help you by e-mail if you prefer.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I'm sure you can identify with my frustration when I tell you that I posted following my initial enquiry to my local authorised dealer and finding out he knew no more than me!!
I appreciate Michael's position but at the risk of being labelled "the nievity of a newby" can we put in IWCs suggestion box that purely recommended prices as published in each country and in the public domain are allowed on the forum??!!
Looking on the positive side I suppose this just prolongs the agony/ecstasy of first ownership!!
My email if anyone wants to get in touch is cw@freshopps.co.uk

It's frustrating but AD's are usually the last to know when new lines get introduced in to markets. My experience is that a new watch line can appear in a market more than 6 months earlier than your own market. When the watches enter a market, the distribution can be uneven and vary from AD to AD. Patience is essential unless you do a fair bit of globe trotting. Remember, watches take time to manufacture. If they can be turned on and off at will, the watches would not be worth paying the premium for.

I inquired about pricing through my regular supplier (Mappin & Webb in Heathrow Terminal 5) and they informed me Autumn 2011 for the 8 day and they were also able to provide a price. I suggest you call Mappin & Webb or WoS and they should be able to help you.

Hi Charles! But where you yourself would be more convenient to buy a watch IWC, I mean in what country?
