I wish I could like every watch ever made by IWC, but this one isn't my favorite. I do find it "well styled" but
--I get tired of in vogue "me too" dials --the layers, the contrasting chapter rings, etc.--- are done from everyone from Perrelet to Wyler to Richard Mille. They're nice but neither classic nor creative.
--Because of the above, to me I see little IWC "DNA" in the dial. On many watches I can see something that makes the watch to me part of IWC. This one strays a little further from what IWC means to me.
I know, I know, the last argument also can be made about watches I own, from the Portuguese Regulateur Tourbillon to the CFDV, but in all instances I see more of IWC's DNA in the watch, even if it's a little difficult to articulate.
Also, to me the watch's premium over the "regular" Da Vinci chrono is quite high.
"New" watches sure take a long time to reach our shores! Last night I finally got to see the ceramic Da Vinci at one of the ADs here on the island.
The salesman saw me looking at it in the display case and told me that they were really hard to get. I told him that I had never seen one before.
Are these really hard to get or did IWC put this watch on a very slow boat to Hawaii?
My friend took a picture with his cell phone:
Have a nice weekend!

I wonder why?
The price seemed reasonable and last year there was quite a bit of discussion about IWC's new ceramic piece.
Thanks for the info - I'm probably the last one on the Forum to get to see this watch in person (I haven't been off the island since last April).

Sorry to be a contrarian here.

Since it took so long to reach the 'island', are you going to give it a good home???!!!!!! LOL
Let us know if you liked it enough to get it!
