Just wondering if anyone knows why IWC went with the 30110 movement in the DEEP TWO , with the watch being in that price bracket why did it not get an in house movement thanks

Why would they use anything else? The Deep Two is attractive because of the unique depth gauge and the really cool dial color and design. It is after all just a super Aquatimer. The 30110 movement has to fit in the case with the depth gauge. I don't think a whole lot of these are being made.

No faith required.
This movement and its predecessors have proven their reliability, robustness and accuracy over a long period of time and IWC has wide experience with it. It is the standard caliber for non-chronograph Aquatimers and that is what the Deep Two is.

In addition, it is also used in the MARK XVI's. Interesting that the topic of "In-House vs. Non In-House" comes up often regarding this caliber. From what I read.... it is extremely rare to find on any forum discussion site that this movement has had any reliability/accuracy/durability issues throughout it's history. This ETA/IWC modified "Heartbeat" has proved itself. What more could one ask of this vital organ?
When I fly on a Boeing aircraft, I feel confident that Boeing selected Rolls-Royce engines that have been time tested and perform day after day with rarely a hickup. Same thing holds true with my Caliber 30110.
Now everyone sit back...relax...and enjoy the flight. With all IWC models you get a beautiful view !!!!!
