MACLIGHT, I can only tell you the unvarnished truth. That "thing" is not an IWC. It may have an IWC cal 73 from 1918 inside, but that is not enough to an IWC make. As to "retail value" - a big fat zero. I would actually pay to get rid of it. On a lighter note - in a competition for the ugliest "marriage" posted in this forum, that "thing" will be a serious contender

Clepsydra, and please tell me how did you guess that this watch a fake? You defined it in the very mechanism by thermometer or Jones, or registration dial?

Evgeny, I am not sure I fully understand your question, but I will try answering your post. I did not guess the watch is a fake. I know it is a fake, it was not a guess :). IWC did not make wrist watches with cal 73. The first Ref 325, aka vintage or original Portugieser has a cal 74. Also, IWC did not make wrist watches with the seconds at 9, until the Minute Repeater. In the late-30s, early-40s, and up to the late 60s, IWC made classic, conservative, elegant wrist watches. The dial design and hands of that watch are too hideous for words.

When I saw the first post my initial reaction was that this was clearly not an IWC design. But there is always the possibility that there was some specially produced watch from the 1930's that only MF or other experts know about. Glad to see that Tony confirmed my suspicions.
please guys provide me with more interesting info and retail price (dont need exact number):
Thank you.
